History and Cultural Representations of Human Remains Conferences

Three conferences on the history and cultural representations of human remains are taking place in France and the United Kingdom.  The three interdisciplinary conferences will examine the relationship between anatomical knowledge and practice and their cultural representations so as to offer an overview of the cultural reception of the exhibition of human remains.

  1. Medical Museums and Anatomic Collections at the Natural History Museum, Toulouse, on 4 February, 2013
  2. Anatomic Models at the Academy of Medicine, Paris, on 4 April, 2013
  3. Exhibiting Human Remains at the Hunterian Museum, London, on 4 June, 2013
