BSLS is pleased to announce the shortlist for this year’s prize for the best book in the field of literature and science scholarship. The four shortlisted titles are:
- Adelene Buckland, Novel Science: Fiction and the Invention of Nineteenth-Century Geology (Chicago University Press)
- Jennifer Esmail, Reading Victorian Deafness: Signs and Sounds in Victorian Literature and Culture (Ohio University Press)
- Cristina Malcolmson, Studies of Skin in the Early Royal Society (Ashgate)
- Robert Mitchell, Experimental Life: Vitalism in Romantic Literature and Science (Johns Hopkins University Press)
The winner will be announced at the dinner of the annual conference, held in April at the University of Surrey.
