Renewing Existing Membership

Existing members can also renew their membership using either Paypal, Standing Order or cheque. If you choose to pay by either Paypal or Standing Order then please read the notes below.

Payment notes

Paypal

You can join using PayPal or a credit/debit card by clicking on the Paypal link below (if you don’t have a PayPal account, the PayPal link should, nevertheless, allow you to renew using a standard credit or debit card).
Please note that, because of bank charges, it costs £1 extra to join or renew in this way.  When you click through to PayPal please enter your name in ‘Special instructions to the seller’ so we can identify who the payment is from.

Standing Order

Use a Standing Order mandate and your membership will renew automatically each year unless you cancel it.  Please use the form available at this link: BSLS standing order mandate 2012.
Unfortunately, because of high bank costs for currency transactions, and different banking systems, you can only use this form of payment for British bank accounts in pounds sterling. If you don’t have such an account, please renew by one of the other methods. Direct any questions to our treasurer Daniel Cordle.
Again, Please note that renewal of membership takes place on January 1st of each year and runs to the end of the current calendar year, not a year after the date you joined. Memberships purchased after 1st Oct will run to the end of the following calendar year.
